- When accessing the Scanner options in "Tools > Options > Scanner dialog", OmniPage should no longer hang.
- When using the "Look for facing pages" option, OmniPage should no longer hang during the recognition process.
- When processing complex documents (similar to financial tables), OmniPage should no longer slow down or hang when recognizing.
- When opening large *.Max files within OmniPage that use the system's entire resources, a crash should no longer occur. Instead, a message dialog will appear saying that the file can not be opened.
Major Improvements:
- OmniPage 15 support PDF-A type files. PDF-A is a constrained form of Adobe PDF version 1.4 intended to be suitable for long-term preservation of page-oriented documents for which PDF is already being used in practice.
- The scanning modules within OmniPage 15 have been improved.
Recognition/Text Formatting/Saving:
- Overall improved recognition and text formatting on complex documents.
- Bold text should appear properly aligned within the text editor.
- Issues when saving to HTML format have been resolved. The "Previous page" and "Next page" links should appear properly on the index page. Also, issues when creating "Create one file per page" with "Simple index page" set, should no longer occur when saving to HTML format.
- Text should fit properly and extra pages should not be added to the document when saving to WordPerfect using Flowing Page mode.
Loading/Acquiring Images:
- Improved loading/handling of DCX files.
User Dictionary
- The listing for user dictionaries will properly list the Microsoft Office dictionary as "Custom - Microsoft Office". Previously, only "Custom" was listed.
- The Microsoft Office user dictionary will no longer become corrupt when used with OmniPage.
Options:
- The zoom settings enabled in the image panel will be applied to additional pages and when starting a new document. The zoom settings will return to "Whole page" view after closing and relaunching OmniPage.
- Custom layout information that can be enabled in the OmniPage Options will be retained after recognizing a document.
