Will upgrading an operating system require ScanSoft or Nuance software to activate again?

Will upgrading an operating system require ScanSoft or Nuance software to activate again?

Answer:

Yes. When upgrading operating systems (Example: Windows XP to Windows Vista), ScanSoft or Nuance software will prompt to activate upon first use after upgrading. This will decrease the number of activations by one.

To make sure the activation count remains the same, we recommend un-installing the software with an active internet connection before upgrading the operating system.
