Each of the supplied Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 Medical vocabularies represents a collection of medical specialties and worktypes. These vocabularies have been given names for ease of reference, even though the names may not completely describe all of the specialties they cover.

Note: During the custom installation, the user can choose which medical vocabularies to install.

The following table indicates how vocabulary assignments might be made for doctors in various specialties and work-types.

These vocabularies have been given names for ease of reference, even though the names may not completely describe all of the specialties they cover. These specialties are grouped together based on a statistical analysis of the similarity of language used in each specialty and work type. The boundaries between vocabularies are not distinct. Most doctors who find their specialty in more than one vocabulary or think that they fit in more than one category, should get the expected accuracy by picking one vocabulary and using Voctool and the Dragon NaturallySpeaking training tools to import custom words.
